This contains a series of video talks introduced by the retired Superintendant of Special Education with the Halton Regional Catholic School Board, Jim Hansen. Starting in the 1970s, public education at HRCSB was made available to all and since then the number of special needs children, including those with developmental issues and with autism has grown significantly. Students with special needs and varying abilities easily fit in when their real strengths and needs are understood and when others see what they see in themselves (Brian Amareto – obstacles to overcome as a disabled student).
