Ideas that Matter ~The Complex Beauty of Shared Lives

$0.00

Inclusion Press and the New York Alliance for Inclusion and Innovation invite you to a listening and reflection gathering with an excerpt of the session  “The Complex Beauty of Shared Lives,” a presentation from the 2022 ‘Home is the Heart of Shared Living, An International Gathering’.

We’ll watch and listen to the video featuring Patti Scott sharing Tyrone Towers’ story and then reflect in small group conversations, coming back to Harvest together and explore deeper themes and learning.

Tyrone was the heart of his community and neighborhood. At 13 he was homeless, then for more than 20 years, he lived in a variety of institutions. In his late 30s, Tyrone followed his vision and moved back to the community he left as a teen. He became a homeowner, a neighbour, a student, an employer, a citizen, and an incredible connector. Tyrone’s life was the source of his deep compassion. Over his last 10 years, he shared his home and life, growing deep bonds as friends who also became his family. This session will honour stories from Tyrone’s complex commitment to share his life and home.
